Skoltech is a new global research university created in collaboration with MIT. The new campus, designed by Herzog de Meuron, is home to 40 world-class labs with best-in-class equipment, globally renowned professors and students from 40+ countries.
Andriy Zhugaevich, program coordinator. Previously, Andriy worked on research at the Department of Chemistry of the University of Houston, then at the US National Laboratory (Los Alamos). He has been working in Skoltech since 2014: he teaches, conducts research, including through grants from the Russian Science Foundation and the NextGeneration Program of Skoltech and MIT.
Professor and Director of the Skoltech Center for Energy Science and Technology Artem Abakumov received his PhD degree from Moscow State University and spent two years in the Electron Microscopy for Materials Science (EMAT) laboratory, University of Antwerp, conducting his postdoctoral research. His research focuses on understanding the crystal and defect structure of inorganic solids and linking this knowledge to designing new materials and getting deeper insight into their functional properties.
